Lucero Hogaza León de Mijares, best known as Lucerito, was born on August 29, 1969, in Mexico City. Her parents are Luz María León Saubinet, and Antonio Hogaza.

Cesar "El Pollo" González who discovered her aptitudes to become a star, invited Lucerito to participate on a popular children's TV show of the 80's called "Alegrías del mediodía." She was 10 years old. Some time later, this program changed its schedule to nights, where its name changed to "Chiquilladas." At that time Lucerito staterd tasting success since the show had great success not only in Mexico but all Latin America, and the latin community in the USA.

In 1983, Lucerito received a proposal to work as an acctress for a soap opera called "Chispitas," which she proudly accepted, and became her first success as an actress.
In 1996, Lucero participated in the soap opera "Lazos de Amor" with Luis Jose Santander.
In the production, Lucero gives life to three different characters: triplets who have been separated after a tragic car accident. Lucero got roaring critics for her performance,and imposed a new style in soap-opera-making in Mexico. A few months later, Manuel Mijares invited her to participate in a musical duet for his new release where he declared his love for her. They got married on January 18, 1997.

In 1997,Lucero became the official host of the Televisa Teleton, which raises funds for disabled children. She has then repeated this role for five more years. Lately, Lucero's career has been tainted by an incident in which one of her bodyguards threatened members of the press with a gun after a performance she gave in Mexico City. Lucero appeared in a press conference fully supporting her bodygurard's behaviour and accusing the press of harassing her. Since then, the Mexican press has widely critiziced her lack of concern in an incident that could have ended disastrously, and the arrogance with which she handled the whole situation.

Apparently, this criticism affected Lucero enough to give interviews in different TV programs, apologizing for her bodyguard's behaviour and hew own. She also apologized to the mexican press in an attempt to restore the once-ideal relationship they had.
